Manuka honey is only produced in New Zealand and gets its name from the Manuka shrub.
The two common types of Manuka honey are:
Active Manuka Honey
Active Manuka honey which is based on measures of naturally occurring peroxide activity and is ranked on a scale of 'total activity' or 'TA' activity.
UMF Manuka Honey
UMF Manuka honey which is graded on the non-peroxide activity, a natural anti-bacterial agent, and is measured by UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) which is a registered trademark.

At Holland & Barrett we sell both types of Manuka honey, which are labelled as either measuring natural-occurring-peroxide-activity or measuring non-peroxide activity.
