Natural Soya Protein Chunks 5 5
Great source of proteins I love these soya chunks, they can be re rehydrated quickly and can be mixed with other foods (vegetables, etc). They have a nice texture. I have not found them elsewhere. 08 October 2013
I like it A cheap, light and easy-to-store source of protein. Fantastic. 16 January 2013
Add your own flavours... Once you've softened and cooked the soya chunks, you can add any flavours you like - they can be curry, Mediterranean, Chinese, anything at all. And when they;re completely softened, they have the consistency of well-cooked pork or chicken. My favourite is to cook the chunks with onions in a vegetable stock cube then add cheese sauce. If you get the balance right, it magically turns into chicken supreme!! Yum! 09 December 2012
Good value Great value at the price. Personally I prefer Quorn as a meat-free alternative in terms of taste and texture, but these are great if you don't have a freezer/fridge/space in your freezer/space in your fridge and I imagine that they are cheaper too. 05 June 2013
Too hard, chewy and bland These soya chunks are good value, and it's great to be able to buy them so easily, however they are so tough, unmalleable and spongy compared to other brands available, even with copious amounts of soaking in hot water. I have had amazing TVP chunks in the past both an organic brand in the UK and fabulous soya chunks from supermarkets in South East Asia- and I didn't quite realise what I was missing eating these ones from Holland and Barrett until branching out- TVP can be delicious, and flavourful- these just aren't. The best description I could think of was bland cardboard which one has to chew for a good minute to even break down. Great exercise for the jaw though I guess! 07 July 2013
