Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product. I really don't understand the bad reviews- in fact they're annoying to read. I saw and bought this in the store, had it for dinner tonight and just came online to order some more whilst the penny sale is still on and I'm frankly shocked by the low reviews. I think people expect it to be JUST like pasta? It did the job for me. Anyway, I'm very satisfied. Yes, it smelled like seafood before rinsing, but after I rinsed it it smelled of nothing. So that's not a problem. It absorbed the smell and flavour of the herbs I used, much like how plain old pasta does. The texture did not bother me in the least, and was not rubbery- perhaps the people complaining did not cook it long enough? It was very filling and enjoyable to eat. It beefed up my meal and filled me up- with minimal added calories, carbs and fat, and decent amount of protein and fibre. A must for low-carb and low-calorie diets. 13 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Was very skeptical but in the end tried it and was impressed. To address the concerns of others yes when you open it does smell a bit but they warn you about that . Its just the starch in the water it comes in and disappears when you wash it. The product smells of nothing. It is easy to use. You just heat it up in the sauce for about two or three minutes. It really does need a sauce to give flavour as its tasteless. Frankly so is cheap pasta!! Texture wise its perhaps a tiny bit rubbery - I like Pasta al dente and this is just a little bit short of that. But its perfectly palatable and feels just like eating real pasta. I enjoyed the meal I also found that digestively over the next 3 days there was absolutely no problem with it. You do need to drink around half a litre of water with the meal but again that isn't a great hardship. So all in all I think this is a great product and think I will be using it regularly as part of a mixed diet. 23 January 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok I managed to get two lunches from one packet by mixing these with vegetables. It satisfied me and kept me full but tasted rubbery. 10 April 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as good as the other eat water products. I'm not a fussy eater, but i hated this product. I love the other slim water products, the spaghetti and rice are amazing but the penne was like eating big chunks of rubber. i would advise to go for the other types of pasta they are much better! 09 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Looks good, fills you up I like the recent change to the pasta that makes it more opaque with a creamy yellow tinge (just like real egg pasta). Before it wasn't coloured and was just a translucent, whitish colour. While the taste is the same, i.e. pretty bland like all these pastas made from konjac fibre, it fills you up for hours and you can get your flavour from whatever sauce you add. I recommend this stuff to all my friends! 14 May 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by I Like Slim Pasta - just not this one I am a fan of the spaghetti and noodles in this range but the penne is just too solid and lumpy. Technically it is hollow but the hole just doesn't open up so doesn't get coated with sauce. It's just too solid - having bought a few packets and not being happy with the 1st I didn't want to waste the money I had spent on the other packets, so I tried slicing the pieces in the 2nd packet lengthways - no improvement. Then the 3rd I ended up slicing into little pieces which was just tolerable but clearly far too time comsuming. So the spaghetti and noodles get my vote - fettucini is okay but not as good as the other two. Don't be put off - they don't taste like pasta but well rinsed and boiled for a few minutes, then served with a sauce, Slim Pasta is a good alternative for those trying to watch their weight (microwaving can leave a bit of the starchy fishy odour that others have mentioned) 25 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by slim pasta penne Low carb, high fibre, low calorie pasta - I'm on the atkins diet,so this is perfect! Product smells fishy when opened from brime water bag,so lots of washing. Tastes really good, but a kind of jelly like texture - like texture of seafood sticks. For best value buy on the buy one get 2nd for a penny - great value then! 10 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Happy The packing of this product that was delivered states it is 9 calories per 100 grams. I am absolutely ectstatic about this product. Being someone who likes to eat a lot the fact I can eat 600 grams of this product at a cost of 54 calories is a dream come true. Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant product. 17 August 2015
