Glad I found this oatmeal as it is not easy to find these days. This makes superb porridge if you are not in a hurry but it really is worth the time and effort.

I've made porridge with pinhead (coarse) oatmeal all my long life and this is the only way to make it. The flavour of porage oats does not compare. Because this is a natural product, the flavour of different producers varies and this one is very good. It suits my palate. A couple of years age Holland & Barrett did not stock pinhead oatmeal (in fact I was asked to explain what it was) but now they deliver to France where we live. An excellent product delivered expeditiously at a reasonable price.

I am Scots and appreciate a good porridge, which this is. I soak it overnight and it bulks up amazingly in the morning, so that I have to add more water. It makes the most marvellous crumble (see recipe on pack) for either savoury or sweet ingredients..

This oatmeal requires cooking long time so I soak it night before in water. The oatmeal is very creamy when cooked in cold water and it tastes delicious.

I was surprised (and pleased) to find that I could make really good oatcakes at the first attempt. I'm sure that this is down to the quality of the oatmeal rather than my own skill!

Tried really hard to like this but failed. Resolve to stick to the jumbo organic oats to make oatmeal porridge in future. This is hard and grainy, takes either soaking overnight or lengthy cooking to make it palatable and still in my humble opinion isn't anywhere near as good as the jumbo oats.
