Sowan’s Roasted Buckwheat is rated out of 5 by 10.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ward from nice tasting product It tastes nice but goes a bit mushy pretty much straight from the beginning of cooking. There are definitely other varieties of buckwheat which keep the shape of grains better (or, perhaps, they get roasted differently). Plus I try to buy all my foods organically, so I think H&B should start supplying organic buckwheat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Zeb89 from Love this stuff Great alternative to rice/couscous/bulgar-wheat. Much healthier and higher protein. Easy to cook. Adds a great taste to meals rather than a bland base like rice. Great quality for a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SK132 from Nutty and wholesome Bought this on a whim, never having cooked buckwheat myself - it has a fairly strong, earthy taste which some people might not like but I enjoyed. Found it easy to cook and makes an interesting alternative to couscous as the texture is firmer and more solid and is higher in protein. Also good mixed in with porridge oats for breakfast to add a more variety to it

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jamesbond007 from Turns to mush I followed the instructions but it kept turning into mush. I wanted to use it in place of rice or couscous but could only use it as porridge. has a very strong smell which is not very pleasant. I tried the unroasted variety which turned out fine.
