When it comes to bedtime, we all want to drift off into a peaceful sleep. But sadly, that doesn’t always happen. However, you can give yourself a much better chance of drifting off if you do all the right things before bedtime.
Getting yourself into a calm, relaxed state isn’t always easy, but it’s the best thing you can do to help you sleep well. So for those of you that want to feel like you are floating on a cloud, here are some ways to get into a relaxed state before bed.
1. Switch off
Don’t stay on your tablet, laptop or smart phone late into the evening. A few hours before bed, put your phone on silent so that your mind can begin to switch off, and you won’t be interrupted by constant messages. Plus, the light from your phone screen can make it harder to fall asleep when you get into bed.
2. Calming scents
At night time, pop on a few scented candles whilst you are unwinding, and you will instantly start to feel relaxed. Or invest in some of our calming and relaxation products, such as Magnesium Oil Goodnight Spray.
Mediation can work wonders for your sleep. It can help you to refocus your mind, de stress and feel much calmer. Before you drift off, practice a few minutes of meditation (the longer the better).

5. Get comfy
If you are super comfortable, you are more likely to be able to relax. Just before bed, put on your favourite cosy pyjamas and snuggle up on the sofa with a blanket.
6. Soothing sounds
Last but not least, try and listen to some relaxing sounds. Perhaps put on some classical music, sounds of nature or the ocean, or even simply a band you like, and this should help you to feel more relaxed before bed.
