Holland & Barrett Pot Barley is whole Grain Brown Barley and is great to use for soups or stews to add a bit of thickness to the dish. It also adds a slightly nutty taste.
It’s a very versatile grain, which can be used in addition of pasta, rice, cous cous and bulgur. It takes longer to cook than pearl barley but to speed things up, soak in water overnight.

Ratio: 3 cups water to 1 cup grain barley. Soak pot barley in cold water overnight, then simmer it for 45-50 minutes, until tender.
You can also add to soup and stews during cooking.
