Medichecks Nutrition Blood Test

Nutrition Blood Test

  • Check your vitamin and mineral levels.
  • Make sure you’re not missing key nutrients from your diet.
  • Find out why you are low in energy.

A laboratory blood test with simple at-home collection to make sure that your body is getting the important vitamins and minerals it needs for good health.

Most balanced diets should provide the body with all the vitamins and minerals it needs, however not everyone eats as well as they could all the time. This check helps you understand whether you need to include more vitamins and minerals in your diet, or whether you might benefit from taking a supplement. Advisory information:

Fasting is optional for this test. Eating fatty foods might affect the results of a small number of blood tests (e.g. triglycerides), so we may advise a retest when you are fasted. High dose biotin supplements can affect this test. Do not take biotin for 2 days prior to this test. If you are taking biotin for medical reasons (e.g. multiple sclerosis) you should discuss this with your doctor. You should take this test before you take any vitamin or mineral supplements. Do not take vitamin B12 supplements for one week prior to this test. This test will help in assessing whether your supplements are meeting your body's vitamin B12 needs. To check whether you have vitamin B12 deficiency we recommend omitting B12 supplements for 3 months. If you are taking B12 supplements prescribed by your doctor you should ask them whether you should stop supplementing.
