When there are natural ingredients that have been used for centuries to make us look and feel beautiful, why does the beauty industry push products onto us that contain synthetic chemicals and artificial colours and fragrances? It just doesn’t make sense.
Here at Holland & Barrett we strive to make the most of Mother Nature and incorporate natural goodness into the products we sell.
What are the benefits of natural skincare?
Natural skincare products are kind to your skin and the planet, all while making you look your very best. Natural ingredients like aloe vera, tea tree oil, charcoal, shea butter, and naturally-occurring vitamins and minerals are used as an alternative to artificial scents and synthetic chemicals. There’s a natural remedy you can try for every skin problem:
You won’t find synthetic chemicals ingredients inside any beauty product you buy from Holland & Barrett’s natural beauty range.
What is Zero Waste Beauty?
Keeping ourselves feeling and looking beautiful shouldn’t have to cost the Earth, but, unfortunately, sometimes our everyday beauty products are less natural than we would like. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Zero-waste beauty is a name for environmentally-friendly beauty products that are 100% plastic free on the inside and re-usable on the outside. For example, Beauty Kitchen’s range includes moisturising face cream, natural shampoo and conditioner, organic body lotion, and so much more. All these products are natural, vegan and cruelty-free, and packaging can be returned to Holland & Barrett stores to be reused.
What is Ethique Beauty?
Ethique is zero waste beauty at its very best. They have hair bars, face bars and body bars, all made of vegan-friendly, plant-based ingredients that are good for your body and good for the planet. Every bit of Ethique’s packaging is totally plastic free, 100% compostable and recyclable. Every ingredient is certified fair trade, derived from nature, sustainable and palm oil free.
The range includes:
What are vegan beauty products?
Vegan beauty makes sure than no animals are harmed in the making of your beauty product. But what isn’t vegan about a beauty product? We hear you ask. Even if a product doesn’t contain obvious animal ingredients like honey and milk, it can still be classed as non-vegan. A common ingredient in hair colourants and conditioners is vitamin D3, which is animal derived, but you’d never automatically think it comes from an animal.
You’d be surprised at how many beauty companies put their products through animal testing, yes even in this day and age! But you’ll be happy to know that vegan beauty products never test on animals – just look for the Leaping Bunny logo.
What are the benefits of essential oils?
Essential oils are wonderful for overall health and 100% natural. They are extracted from a plant’s roots, stems, leaves and petals, usually by steam, and each plant has its own unique properties:
Here are a few ways you can use them:
