Equazen Mumomega 60 capsules
There’s never been a more important time to help make sure your body is working at its best as when trying to conceive and during pregnancy. We all need to consume omega-3 essential fatty acids, and DHA is crucial during pregnancy as they are required for the normal development of the eye and brain of the foetus***. Maintaining adequate amounts of DHA omega-3 fatty acids during the last trimester and during breastfeeding is particularly important as this when the brain’s growth is most rapid. The nutritional demands on a pregnant woman have led the government to recommend that all pregnant and nursing women consume an additional 200mg DHA per day on top of the 250g DHA per day already recommended for all adults.
In terms of intake, we recommend that pregnant and lactating women take at least 300 mg of DHA a day. We also suggest infants take at least 100 mg of DHA a day in their diet. Where this is not possible, we have developed EQUAZEN baby from the age of 6 months. Omega-3 Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) from fish oil is a marine fatty acid, which provides the building blocks of the brain and eyes. It makes up 40% of the polyunsaturated fatty acids, or PUFAs in the brain and 60% of those found in the retina. Omega-3 Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) is one of the fatty acids that makes up Omega-3 found in oily fish Omega-6 Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) from cold pressed evening primrose oil and metabolite Arachidonic Acid (AA), ensures a synergistic and balanced formulation to meet the body’s individual needs.
