Mix half a cup of oats with one cup of water or milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 4-6 minutes until thick or reaching your desired consistency. Stir regularly.
Microwave: Mix the oats and water/milk into a large microwavable container.
Cook for 2 ½ - 3 minutes. Watch to make sure the porridge does not boil over.
