- Glucosamine is naturally found in the body and is classed as an amino sugar. It plays an important role in making the building blocks of ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and synovial fluid.
- Cartilage is the connective tissue which protects the bones within the joints where they connect with each other. It is flexible, rubbery, and tough, providing padding for the bones and stopping them from rubbing together and causing friction. Vitamin C contributes towards normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage.
- As we get older, the cartilage within the joints naturally starts to become less flexible and may also start to break down. Although glucosamine is naturally present in the human body, our natural levels of it start to fall as we get older.
