Description
Cheesy, nutty and oh-so-nutritious, Engevita nutritional yeast is simply delicious!
Although yeast flakes may not sound like the tastiest ingredient in the world, trust us, you shouldn’t take it at name value. Engevita Yeast Flakes with B12 are a gluten-free, vegan food with a cheesy, nutty taste.
Made from primary inactive yeast, without artificial additives or preservatives, these yeast flakes are the ideal condiment to sprinkle on soups, stews, casseroles, salads and pasta to enhance the flavour. You can also use it to make vegan cheesy sauce and vegan cheese to trick even the staunchest of meat eaters!
What is nutritional yeast?
Kind of like the yeast used to make beer and bread, nutritional yeast is part of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast family. It’s a naturally fantastic source of complete vegan protein, is rich in B vitamins and has a trace amount of minerals. These Engevita Nutritional Yeast Flakes have also been fortified with vitamin B12, making them a good way to get this important vitamin.
What are the benefits of nutritional yeast flakes?
Taking nutritional yeast for vitamin B12: B12 is only found naturally in animal products, so vegans and vegetarians can be particularly at risk of deficiency. Cooking and baking with nutritional yeast (or just sprinkling it on your toast!) can help to prevent B12 deficiency.
Nutritional yeast is a complete vegan protein: Each serving contains just 17kcal, with 1.1g of fibre and 2.6g of protein.
