The GUTsy Captain Kombucha

- Every bottle is created and fermented with our own Gutsy Captain probiotic culture and only the highest quality ingredients
- Not Pasteurized, No Artificial Colours or Flavours, No Preservatives,
Every bottle is handcrafted to perfection in our western Portugal ocean facility with our own Captain Kombucha probiotic culture and only with the highest quality BIO ingredients. To make kombucha, sweetened green tea is fermented with a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast, known as a SCOBY.
During the fermentation process, the yeast in the SCOBY breaks down the sugar in the tea and releases probiotic bacteria. Kombucha becomes carbonated after fermentation, which is why the drink is fizzy.

Sweet, golden, and only a little fizzy.
“I really enjoyed this one. It is quite sweet, with a rounded taste and looks like an apple cider, ie a nice golden colour. There is only a slight fizz, which suits my palate more than the extremely fizzy ones, which I normally leave to stand in a glass, to defizz a bit. I will buy this one again.”

Really weird aftertaste
“I’ve tried a lot of kombuchas and this has a really odd aftertaste. I can’t quite figure out what it is but it tastes off. It’s sweet to start with but there’s no sharpness, it almost tastes savoury. I made the mistake of buying 3 bottles when it was on offer and barely touched it, it’s just sat in my fridge. Contemplating throwing it away as I dread tasting it again. Hoping some lemon juice might fix the taste otherwise Bon voyage”
