First invented by the character Leslie Knope on Parks & Recreation, Galentine’s Day has evolved into an actual holiday based around women’s empowerment and togetherness.
It’s taken off as a time to gather your best girl friends and celebrate each other – whether that’s card and gift giving, mates’ dates, or just a text.
If you like, turn it into Palentine’s Day, which celebrates platonic pals of any gender.
How can I celebrate Galentine’s Day?
Get crafty
Gifts don’t have to involve spending lots of money. Invite your friends for a crafting session at home where you can make cards, friendship bracelets, or paint portraits for each other.
Get active
We all need motivation to get moving sometimes. Whether it’s a gym session, a yoga class, or a walk in the park with a coffee, it’s a little easier with company.
