Preventative measures… not miracles (sadly)
“I take as a precaution/preventative measure as my mum has advanced MD and I have been tested for the MD gene. I’m not expecting improvements to existing eyesight (having said that, my eye test results have remained stable for several years.. coincidence?).. The scientific evidence (I’ve read a few papers) suggests the ingredients may be beneficial, although I already have a pretty good diet with high polyphenol content, so these may be more impactful for those that don’t already eat a lot of different berry fruits and colourful veg, or where aging gut microbiome has been compromised by medications/antibiotics, or by smoking, high sugar diets, poor circulation, no exercise… all these things contribute to MD. I also take the H&B Super Omega 7 buckthorn supplement, which has done wonders for post menopause dry eyes. Yes, these may be expensive, but I see eyes as pretty vital to enjoying old age, so spending more on healthy ‘treats’ (as I now see supplements) than unhealthy treats is a personal choice as I get older. Although a glass of red wine thankfully is a bit of both ;) My 5 stars are, therefore, for evidence-based ingredients and fingers-crossed optimism!”
