Rated 3 out of 5 by Nutritious I bought milled flax seed because I wanted a source of Essential Fatty Acids but I have found I can only eat a tiny quantity of it at one time otherwise it gives me the runs! In such a small quantity I cannot taste it and I'm probably not getting much EFAs. Oh well. I will valiantly plod on until I have finished the packet. I prefer milled rather than whole kernels because I can digest it better since my teeth can't chew any whole seeds or nuts thoroughly. Mind you, the fat in seeds that have been milled are exposed to the air and go rancid more quickly than in the case of whole seeds. Although it doesn't say so on the packet, you can extend the life of the product by keeping it in the fridge. You can also parcel out the 500g packet into several smaller sized packets, all of which you keep tightly shut except for one that you keep opening & closing on a daily basis. I was disappointed that the packet of milled flax seed I was sent by mail order had a shelf life of only 3½ months. I will struggle to finish it within that time. 16 December 2015
