Rude Health Muesli: A simple idea that took root

Back in 2005, Rude Health founders Nick and Camilla Barnard set out to concoct the best muesli ever.

Originally only sold in local health food shops and delis, Rude Health Ultimate Muesli became a word-of-mouth cult favourite. Now the brand encompasses an ever-growing range of health foods, many of them organic and gluten free, such as gluten free crackers and a huge range of lactose free milk alternatives.

But it was their cereal that put the brand on the map.

A great one to try is an Ultimate Muesli spin-off: the Rude Health Coconut & Seed Muesli.

Not only is it gluten free, but it’s packed with high-fibre favourites like quinoa and buckwheat, as well as a great mix of seeds and fruits.

If you prefer a warm start to the day, Rude Health Porridge will set you up right. Naturally gluten free, the oats are not only rolled but sprouted oats, which enhances the flavour, texture and the uptake of nutrients compared to other porridge oats.

Organic snacks and gluten free snacks

These days, Rude Health are way more than a cereal brand. They are also beloved for their gluten free crackers and organic snacks.

Bursting with flavour, Rude Health Chickpea & Lentil Crackers have just five ingredients (corn, chickpeas, lentils, green peas and sea salt) and are organic and gluten free.

Similarly, Rude Health Buckwheat & Black Bean Crackers tick many healthy boxes, as they are organic, gluten free and nutritious a source of fibre.

If you’re a fan of oatcakes, try Rude Health Spelt Oaty and Rye Oaty which both make great wheat-free dense, nutty bases for any topping or canape, as well as being a great lunchbox snack.

Speaking of lunchboxes, there could be few more nutritious and tasty snacks than Rude Health The Peanut.  The bar, made from dates, peanuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, is naturally gluten free.

Milk alternatives and lactose free milk

Although the brand started with muesli, perhaps it is best known today for its enormous range of milk alternatives (well, you need milk to go with your cereal, right?).

As our knowledge about some of the environmental issues with the dairy industry has increased, the trend for plant based diets has grown.

That, along with an increased awareness of special dietary needs such as gluten free diets, means that the demand for lactose free milk and milk alternatives has skyrocketed. Enter Rude Health, whose enormous range of nut milk alternatives (such as almond milk drink), coconut milk, oat milk drink and more, has us spoiled for choice.

For Rude Health almond milk drink alone, there are three different types to choose from. Rude Health Almond Drink is organic and blended with a little rice and sunflower oil for texture.

Purists out there might prefer Rude Health Ultimate Almond, which is just Italian almonds and spring water, or there’s the Barista Almond,  which has been formulated to make the best foam.

Rude Health Oat Drink is organic too and also has a Barista version.

Other milk alternatives (all organic) include, Rude Health Coconut Milk, Rude Health Hazelnut Drink, the luxurious Rude Health Chocolate Hazelnut Drink, Rude Health Tiger Nut Drink, Rude Health Cashew Drink, Rude Health Soya Drink and Rude Health Brown Rice Drink

Whatever your preference or dietary need, Rude Health has a milk alternative to suit!
