Vegan Philly Cheesesteak

Raise your sandwich game with this vegan-friendly favourite from across the pond.

Step 1 Heat the oil in a heavy based pan, add the chopped pepper and sliced onion, and fry until soft and golden. Step 2 Add the white wine vinegar and cook, stirring intermittently, until most of the liquid has been absorbed or evaporated. Step 3 Slice the steaks lengthways into strips, and then cut the strips in half, for pieces around an inch long. Step 4 In a separate pan, place one half of the steak strips in a pile equivalent to the length  of your roll, fry for 3 minutes, and then cover with half of the onion and pepper mixture, as well as half of the cheese. Step 5 Leave to cook on a medium heat for 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted. Step 6 Halve one of your baguettes and spread with mayonnaise, then carefully add the mixture.
