What is cod liver oil?

Cod liver oil is a fish oil supplement, which is extracted from the liver of cod.

Cod liver oil is a quick and easy way to obtain EPA and DHA essential Omega 3 fatty acids. Our bodies are unable to produce these omega 3 fatty acids and so we therefore need to get them through our diets.

Oily fish is one of the best sources of omega 3 fatty acids and so the NHS recommends that you should eat at least two portion of fish such as salmon, sardines or mackerel each week.

Cod liver oil also contains vitamins A and D for added nutrition.
