Description
Ryan and Kim launched Life Kitchen after losing parents to cancer, and seeing how chemotherapy was affecting their experience with food. The H&B with Life Kitchen collection has been designed to enhance each of our five basic tastes: sweet, sour, salt, bitter and umami.
Packed full of umami flavours, think of this paste as a shortcut to delicious food! The rich ingredients synergistically work to create an immense taste explosion, boosting flavour and intensifying all the other ingredients in your dishes.
To achieve this, we have used big hitting umami power houses like yeast extract, dark soya sauce, mushroom powder, and MSG. And to balance it, we have added the sourness of citric acid, the sweetness of honey and the heat of ginger.

Disappointing Strange Flavour.
“The texture was smooth and thick which was ok, but it isn’t a paste, it’s a sauce, so the legal description ‘paste’ is misleading. Unfortunately the flavour doesn’t taste nice, there isn’t a good balance of flavours, it’s strong with clashing ingredients like Star Anise and bitterness from mushroom powder and a variety of ingredients fighting. There is only 3% honey and given Honey is in the main product title I think it should be higher.. don’t need MSG in this either”
