Movement is one of those things you take for granted, right up until you start thinking about it.

Joint Support is the blend for keeping that going, and it's led by the herb Ayurveda has always reached for first when it comes to joints.

That herb is boswellia, known in Ayurveda as shallaki and in English as Indian frankincense. The resin is the part that's used, and it's warming, drying, and good at travelling into the tissue.

Turmeric works alongside it, warming and drying in the same way, but reaching different places. Ginger warms the whole blend and helps everything move. And there's a little black pepper, to help the body absorb the curcuminoids in turmeric. It's an old pairing that modern science has since gone on to explain.

Our other blends work by balance, with one herb softening another. This one is built differently. In Ayurveda, warmth is what you reach for when things feel cold and slow, so every herb in here is a warming one and they all pull in that same direction.

Vitamin C goes somewhere the herbs don't. Collagen is the main structural protein in cartilage, and vitamin C is what the body draws on to make it. Ours comes from organic amla, the Indian gooseberry, and one of the richest natural sources there is. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage, and to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones.

Vitamin D3 completes the blend, from organic lichen. A joint relies on the bone it sits in and the muscle that moves it, and that's the ground vitamin D covers. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function, to the maintenance of normal bones, and to the normal absorption and use of calcium.
