Makes 1 large or 4 individual crumbles
Nutrients per serving:
- 800g mixed berries such as strawberries, raspberries and blackberries
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 30g sugar
For the crumble:
- 60g cold butter, cubed
- 75g plain flour *
- 50g oats *
- 60g caster sugar
- ½ tsp ground ginger *
Step 1Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 4. Mix the berries with the chopped ginger and add to the large or individual tins. Sprinkle over the sugar and bake for 10 minutes, or until the fruit is beginning to soften.
Meanwhile, mix together the crumble ingredients. Rub the butter into the mixture until it looks like breadcrumbs.
Once the fruit has softened, top with the crumble mixture and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until golden. Serve immediately with cream, custard or ice cream.
