Chaga, also known as Inonotus obliquus, has long been revered as the 'King of therapeutic mushrooms' in Russian and Chinese traditional medicine.

Chaga mushrooms grow naturally on birch trees, which are their preferred host. Because of their barky appearance and tough fruiting bodies, they are normally not considered edible mushrooms.
