As a one of the pulse family, these plump and succulent chickpeas have been pre-cooked for your convenience, ready to sprinkle into soups, curries and salads. Chickpeas are high in fibre and provide a source of plant-based protein too. Just 3 heaped tablespoons count as one of your five a day. Including pulses, like chickpeas in your diet often, could help you to reach the recommended daily intake of 30g fibre. Being plant-based, chickpeas are a good-value source of protein too and are an essential store cupboard ingredient.
