Most parents are heavily involved in keeping their kids healthy while they’re little, but as they start to grow up and become more independent, and act like they don’t need you, it can be harder to stay on top of their needs.

Thankfully, there are lots of easy ways you can support the health of your teen to keep them in tip top condition – especially during stressful exam seasons.

And with 96% of teenagers feeling more worried about exams returning to normal, we understand the importance of supporting them through it.

Not sure what to look out for? We’ve curated a bundle of the best new vits and wellness products to help get you started.

The Study Well bundle contains a selection of wellness products to help your teen cope with the demands of the exam season, starting with a healthy breakfast, natural skincare and products for a better night’s rest – but more on this below!

And for extra help, find out the top tips from our expert Child Nutritionist Sarah Bushell to help your teen get through exams in one piece.

Fam_ - 5/5 stars - probably the best spot gel i've ever used

“It feels good, smells good and if applied appropriately and generously - it flipping works. yeah it does kinda peel after, like elasticky peel as the gel drys (particularly if you use loads in one area). but yeah just apply at night, or after treating your face, washing your face - on the affected areas - and it does wonders. before or after you put on moisturising cream.”

Top expert tips from our Child Nutritionist

As well as using our Study Well bundle, what else can you do as a parent to support the health of your teen during exam season? Our very own Child Nutritionist Sarah Bushell recommends the following:

  1. Set your teen up for success with a regular schedule for meals and in-between meal snacks and try to stick to time as much as possible. Aim for something to eat every 3-4 hours.
  2. Make sure that meals contain all five food groups and snacks contain at least three. Think of them as mini-meals!
  3. When your teen is revising, make sure they drink plenty of fluid. Aim for 2.5 litres per day.
  4. Encourage your teen to move their bodies or exercise. Doing this first thing at the start of their day will increase the blood flow to the brain which helps clarity of thought.
  5. Take regular breaks. Teens need to stop revising every 45-60 minutes, stand up and walk around and do something different for 15 minutes.
  6. If your teen revises better with music on or with a group of friends, let them. Some will find this a distraction, others will find it helps. Some young people need silence and others find silence is the worst thing. We’re all different.
  7. Meditation, quiet time and visualisation are very powerful tools that can help silence the mind if your teen is starting to feel stressed. Sitting in silence for 10 minutes a day can be a very powerful exercise to realign and bring calm.
  8. Go to bed at a reasonable time every night. They should avoid looking at their phone in the hour before and avoid late nights till after the exam season is over.
  9. Start the revision timetable earlier than you think. It’ll help your teen feel less pressured – you want to avoid any last-minute cramming sessions!
